The Envirothon competition, sponsored by Virginia Dominion Energy and held by the Virginia Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts, is a team-based competition testing knowledge of environmental concepts. Students gain expertise in topics including wildlife, soils, aquatics, and forestry and use the knowledge and field skills they learn to compete in the local, regional, state, and national competitions.
TJ's Envirothon team is not directly incorporated within EIC, meaning that both EIC members and non-members participate in Envirothon! TJ sends one or two teams of five members each to the local competition each year, after which winners can advance to the next levels.
